It is strange but true that one of the most expressive salsa bands originated in a... convent located near the Colombian capital city of Bogota, on street 33.

It’s slightly scruffy salsa, too, kind of bohemian salsa, riding over an electric bass; there are two boogaloos and they do La Pantera Mambo by none other than Henry Mancini. This is clearly a band that generates excitement in clubs and does it with a sense of humor. There’s no stuffiness here, and the music’s totally refreshing.
